One size doesn’t fit all in gloves – just ask OJ! Neither does it in the realm of Data Protection. Many cloud backup firms only offer their solution in the traditional SaaS or Public Cloud model. This model typically means the client is using the provider’s software and using the provider’s remote facilities to store protected data.
What happens if your organization requires knowledge of where your data is physically stored? Or your organization already owns adequate infrastructure and just needs an Enterprise Backup and Data Recovery (BDR) solution along with professional service to properly implement. Yet other organizations may require a mix of the two and then some. Echopath’s BDR solution powered by Asigra has multiple deployment models offering flexibility without sacrificing power.
Public Cloud Done Right
Using the Echopath Public Cloud does mean you are using our Asigra powered software licenses. It also means you are only paying for what is used each month. Our Public Cloud users have the benefit of also knowing that their data is being stored and protected in Echopath owned and managed infrastructure. We do not use any third party cloud storage providers to store our client’s backup data. Echopath has made the necessary investments in the Asigra powered software to offer additional options to our Public Cloud users not always purchased by Private Cloud users such as our Backup Lifecycle Management (BLM) archiving system, Web Based Network Operation Center (DS-NOC) or Replication. Most Public Cloud users take advantage of Echopath’s professional BDR management services to proactively monitor and manage BDR activites on an ongoing basis.
Private Cloud with a Life Line
The Private Cloud deployment model is a traditional software purchase model, but Echopath adds some additional twists. Private Cloud clients have the option to buy in a standard perpetual licensing model or the Recovery License Model (RLM). Users purchase licenses on a per Terra byte (TB) level of compressed, encrypted, deduplicated stored data. There are no agent licensing fees, so the cost is the same for a TB of data on one server or across ten servers. Even in Echopath Private Cloud deployments, you are not alone. Echopath is a life line for Private Cloud clients. We do backup and data recovery every day in the real world and not just the lab, so we help our clients with their real world data protection challenges.
Hybrid Cloud with Care and Flexibility
The Hybrid Cloud option is new to many, but on a steady incline in popularity across the whole cloud service industry. The Echopath Hybrid Cloud can encompass many implementation mixes and matches, but most typically involves one or multiple of the following concepts to be in play.
- Echopath Owned License – It doesn’t always make sense to purchase your own license, but Echopath can offer many of the same benefits of owning your own without the added up front cost. If RLM is a right fit, then a Hybrid RLM deployment may make the most sense for anyone under 20 TB of licensing requirements. This option allows clients to take full advantage of Echopath’s Managed Service Provider (MSP) discounts on an ongoing basis.
- Echopath Owned Infrastructure – It may make sense for you to purchase your own license, but you don’t necessarily have to run out and develop your own data center to properly protect yourself. Echopath has the capability of offering your DS-System Vault a home in our data center and we’ll even manage it for you.
- Echopath Fully Managed – Your organization may need to purchase and house your own BDR system, but you still don’t see the benefit in burning a full Full Time Employee (FTE) to manage and maintain your Asigra powered BDR system when Echopath can do for a fraction of a full FTE cost. Others may just require an additional set of outside eyes to ensure your organization is properly protected.
Whichever deployment model makes most sense for your organization, Echopath’s deployment and licensing flexibility can be arranged to meet your needs. We are more than a Cloud Backup provider. Echopath is a Data Protection Solution Provider. We’ve got your back not matter which deployment model your organization is using.
